Obituary Kenneth Allen Fish, 81, of Morehead City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Yanceyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Yanceyville, North Carolina. As a long-time resident of Carteret County, Ken and his wife, Janet, had been active members of St. Egberts Catholic Church for more than 35 years. After Ken retired from the United States Marine Corps, Ken opened and operated Guppy’s Gallery for over 30 years in Morehead City. Ken cherished his wife, Janet, and loved spending time with his family. His quick wit and steadfast love will be greatly missed by all.

Ken enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1966, became an officer in 1968 and served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam war. Over his military career, Ken rated in numerous helicopter and fixed wing aircraft. He earned numerous individual and unit awards including 2 Air Medals awarded for meritorious acts while flying in support of combat actions. He was also commissioned as the Aviation Artist for the United States Marine Corp. Ken retired a Major, as the Assistant Aviation Safety Officer for the 2 nd Marine Aircraft Wing in June of 1986.

Ken is survived by his three children, daughter, Elizabeth White of Morehead City, NC; son, Jimmy Fish and wife, Ann, of Palm Desert, CA; Tina Bennett and husband, Brian, of Wilmington, NC; six grandchildren: MacKenzie White, Madison White, Marshal White, Noah Fish, Ben Fish, Zeke Fish; great grandson, Kyari Bennett; brother, Frank Fish and wife, Marilyn, of Lyle, IL; sister, Peg of Rochester, MN; sister in-law Dianne of Chippewa Falls, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken Fish and Genevieve Potter (Fish), brother Dave, and wife of 56 years, Janet.
