Julian Thomas Murray

Julian Thomas Murray, 38, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at his home.

Julian earned his Bachelor of Science degree at East Carolina University in 2010, a testament to his hard work and commitment to education. He embodied the values of perseverance and determination, attributes that served him well in both his personal and professional life.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Hubert Judon officiating. Entombment will follow at the Elbert Murray Sr. Family Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the church.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Colleen Murray of Newport; his son, Levi Murray of Havelock; his two daughters, Aria Murray and Ivy Murray, also of Havelock; and his fiancé, Michelle Preast of Newport. Julian also leaves behind his stepson, Tyler Dilbeck of Newport, and his brother, Christopher Murray (Jessica) of Newport. He cherished his role as an uncle to his two nephews, Ayden Gibson and Grayson Murray, both of Newport, and held dear relationships with several uncles and an aunt: Roy Murray (Lillian) of Beaufort, Richard Murray of Beaufort, Dallas Murray (Ada) of Fayetteville, John Kelly of New York, Walter Fulford of Beaufort, and Mary Murray of Fayetteville.

Julian was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Murray.

In celebrating Julian's life, we honor the impact he made on those around him and the legacy he leaves behind through his children. His charm, wit, and kindness will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
