Judy Viereck

Obituary Judy Pierce Viereck, 72, of Morehead City died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. E. Powell Osteen, Jr. officiating. A reception at the church will follow. She was born in Pitt County March 7, 1944 to Henry Ashley Pierce and Eunice Snell Pierce. Mrs. Viereck attended nursing school at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC and earned her Bachelors Degree from East Carolina University. She was a registered nurse with Carteret Home Health. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Morehead City. She is survived by her husband, George F. Viereck; daughter, Amanda V. Smith of Lewisville, TX; sisters, Kay Gamache and husband Ron of Yakima, WA and Janet Frye and husband Gerald of College Station, TX; brothers, Ashley Pierce and wife, Judy of Ashland, VA, Lon Pierce and wife Elaine of Ayden, NC and Jerry Pierce and wife Teresa of Leland, NC; nine nieces and nephews and their families.
