Judith Robertson

October 16, 1942 — March 13, 2017

Obituary Judith Ann (Johnson) Robertson, 74, of Morehead City, died peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2017, at her home with her husband, Russell Robertson; daughter, Heather Mloganoski; and best childhood friend, Dona McCloskey, by her side. Judy, as she was affectionately called, was born October 16, 1942, in East Liverpool, Ohio to Frederick H. Johnson, and Jean (Faulk) Johnson. Judy grew up in Summitville, Ohio where she attended Summitville Grade School, and then graduated in 1960 from Salineville High School. Judy attended Ohio University, and then decided to make a career in the brand new field of computers. She attended a computer programming school in Akron, Ohio, and this led her to a successful career as a computer programmer with Ford Motor Company, Honeywell, General Electric, Visual Statistics Inc., and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Judys last place of employment was the House of Silk Flowers, in Beaufort, NC, where she became a very beloved employee who enjoyed her work and humored her employers regularly. Judy met the love of her life, Russ Robertson, at a party in 1965, and they were married at the Rocky River Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, Ohio on November 26, 1966. They lived in Queens, NYC, for a few years and then moved to Lavonia, MI, where both her children, Heather and Mark were born. They lived in Troy, MI, where Judy started her own preschool program at the local elementary school quickly becoming the most successful preschool in the area. In 1976 they moved to Tolland, CT where they lived until both children graduated from high school. Judy enjoyed playing bridge and she and Russ were a pleasure to watch on the dance floor. Judy had a love for the beach and this led to the family purchasing a small beach condo in 1979 in Charlestown, RI. Judy enjoyed her summers with her family at the beach. She loved sunbathing, walking the beach, always had a jigsaw puzzle out, and most of all entertaining her friends. After the kids moved out, she and Russ moved permanently to the beach condo until 1999, when they moved to Beaufort, NC to be near their daughter. Judy was preceded in death by her parents. Judy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Russell; her daughter, Heather Mloganoski and son-in-law, John, of Morehead City, NC; her son, Mark and his wife, Heather (Higgins) Robertson, of Tolland, CT; and grandchildren, Jake, Haley, and Cole Robertson of Tolland, CT and Adeline Rose Mloganoski of Morehead City, NC; and her sisters, Penelope (Penny) McCullough of Brunswick, OH, and Patricia Hall of Roswell, GA. Judys children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. Judy will always be remembered for her kind soul and loving heart. She enjoyed helping people she loved and always had a shoulder to cry on or an ear available to listen. Her contagious smile will never be forgotten. A celebration of Judys life will be held at a later date and will be private. The family would like to thank Carteret Health Care Home Health & Hospice, and Companion & Home Care for medical assistance and personal care. &nbspBorn: October 16, 1942&nbspPlace of Birth: East Liverpool, OH&nbspDeath: March 13, 2017&nbspPlace of Death: Morehead City, NC&nbspOccupation: Computer Programmer Share your thoughts and memories in the guestbook.
