Josephine Tureman

Obituary Josephine Hope Tureman, 93, of Newport, died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Cherry Point Bay Nursing Home, Havelock. No services are planned. A celebration of her life with family and friends is planned for a future date. Josephine was born in Enfield, NC on October 7th, 1924 to Elisabeth and Roy Sykes. She was the last of six siblings. Josie was married to the love of her life, James L. Tureman from 1944 until his death in January 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Hope T, Wayman and husband Charles S. of Newport; a grandson James Philip Wayman; a granddaughter Kathryn Hope Wayman; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, her parents preceded her in death. Josephine was an avid supporter of numerous charities, especially supporting veterans and feeding the hungry. Donations made in her name to your favorite charity would be appreciated.
