Joseph Harry (Joe) Gore, 65, of Newport, N.C. passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was born in Lake County, Ohio, where he spent most of his youth. His family moved to Broad Creek when he was a senior in high school and he resided there until his death.

He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He believed in family, friends, and hard work. He was a caring father, brother, and uncle. He worked for Ed Holt Construction as a foreman for over 35 years. When he wasn't working, he loved to fish. He could often be found at Franks taking in a ballgame, a car race, or just friendly conversation. He will be greatly missed by all who knew his humor, his kindness, and his love.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at 320 Winding Woods Way in Beaufort on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 5:00-7:00PM with a time for sharing at 6:00PM. A private service will be held by the family.

He is survived by his son, Jason Shannon and wife, Shelley, his sister, Karen Willis and husband, Mac. Nephew, Nathan Watson and wife, Billie. Nephew, William Willis and wife, Kat. Niece, Tina Eubanks and husband, Ivey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Samuel Gore and his wife, Carolyn Jean Gore.
