Joseph O'Neal Garner

Joseph O'Neal Garner passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Morehead City. Born and raised in "Downeast" Carteret County, he spent his life on the water. Joseph was an intelligent and caring man who touched many lives both locally and through his travels over the years, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and compassion.

He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Garner, and her partner, Fredrick Booth; his granddaughter, Lucy Jo Booth; his mother, Barbara Marshburn; his siblings, Robin Garner and Susan Alvarado; and his beloved golden retriever, Jesabel.

He is preceeded in death by his father William Marshburn and his brother Jamie Meyer.

A celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Saturday, November 2, at 11:00 a.m. at the Marshallberg Picnic Area, known locally as "the end of the road," in Marshallberg, NC.
