Obituary John Arthur Sewell, 74, of Morehead City, died Thursday, September 18, 2014, due to complications of surgery, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church, with the pastor, Rev. David Jones, officiating. A native of Morehead City, Mr. Sewell was born December 1, 1940, to Robert Harold and Naola Lewis Sewell. He was a hard-working man who loved to work and help others. Nothing gave him greater pleasure, unless it was his faithful companion, Westie, Poo Sophie. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gail Sewell; two daughters, Sherry Spurrier and husband, Jim, of Clayton, NC, and Vicki McFetters and husband, Scott, of Greensboro; sister, Dessie Sanders, of Jacksonville, FL; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Spurrier, Nicholas Spurrier, Morgan McFetters, and Ryan McFetters. In addition to his parents, his sister, Jan Stalnaker, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, P. O.
