John Lotspih

Obituary John Anthony Lotspih of Atlantic Beach, N.C. passed away after a short illness Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C. He was born on February 6, 1944 in Dayton, OH to Anthony Joseph Lotspih and Edith June Lotspih (Boyd). A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Egbert Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017. He graduated from Stebbins H.S. in 1962. He worked at General Motors at the Inland Plant in Dayton, OH and the Vandalia, OH plant in the Engineering Dept. for 35 years until he retired in 1999. One of his proudest accomplishments was working in the Engineering Dept. and receiving 9 patents in the lead development and performance of passenger side airbags. He was a faithful servant at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Englewood, Oh and St. Egberts Catholic Church in Morehead City N.C. He was a member of St. Egberts Mens Club and Holy Mackerel Fishing Club. He represented Atlantic Beach, N.C. in the Eastern N.C. council. He was an avid rock and gem collector, loved spending time in the garden, taking photos, and traveling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Mary of Atlantic Beach, N.C., son David (Joyce) Lotspih of Troy, OH, daughter Dianne Dulaney, granddaughter Casey, and grandson Sean all of Newport, N.C. He is preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Edith Lotspih, sister Janice Lotspih, and his first wife Joann (Jody) Lotspih. John was a wonderful man and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
