Obituary John Eddie "Ed" Hartman age 79 of Beaufort, died December 6, 2018 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport. A memorial mass will be held at St. Egbert Catholic Church on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 am. Celebrant will be Rev. Thomas Davis. Military honors to follow. Ed was born June 5, 1939 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Eddie Lloyd and Maude Bate Hartman. He married Kay Taylor in 1964 in San Diego, CA. Ed had a love for anything that had to do with airplanes, he loved to fly. He was a fighter pilot in the US Air Force and retired as a Lt. Colonel after twenty years us service. Ed then went on to his second career with Lockheed Martin in Ft. Worth for the next eighteen years. He was a member of St. Egbert Catholic Church and participated in the Mens Club, he also was known to enjoy a good game of Bridge. As much as he loved flying and bridge, that love paled in comparison to the love he held for his family. Ed believed in family and knew beyond a doubt that his family was a sacred treasure. His daughter will remember him always as the worlds best fighter pilot and the worlds best dad. Ed is survived by his wife Kay; his daughter Christiane London and her husband Darin of Burlington, NC; his two precious grandchildren, John and Christian; his sister, Maurine Wisdom of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Laura Taylor of South River, NC; his niece Dawn Wisdom; his nephews, Kevin and Jay Stallard, Jason Wisdom, Zachery Taylor, Jakob Fedkiw and Rowan Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family suggests memorials be made to the Crystal Coast Hospice House, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Newport, NC 28570 or the Air Warrior Courage Foundation, P.O. Box 877 Silver Spring, MD 20918. Services Memorial Mass Friday January 11, 2019 11:00 AM St. Egbert Catholic Church 1706 Evans Street Morehead City, NC 28557
