Obituary Joan Sutton Hall, 67, of Pine Knoll Shores died Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Carteret HealthCare. Her funeral service will be held at Brooks Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. John R. Hall, Sr., officiating. Joan was born in Rocky Mount, NC on July 27, 1949, to Jimmie R. and Letha Elmore Sutton. She has been a Claims Analyst with AmRisc, LLC, a subsidiary of BB&T, since 1989. She made many friends throughout the BB&T family. Joan had a tremendous love for the mountains and for wildflowers. She was a special lady who will be missed by family and friends alike. Joan is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Lee Hall, of Pine Knoll Shores; brother, Jimmie Welbourne Sutton, and wife, Renee, of Zebulon; 3 nieces and 4 nephews. Her parents preceded her in death. The family will greet friends and family at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. A celebration of life reception will be held following the service at The Monkey Bar & Grill, Atlantic Station, Atlantic Beach.
