Obituary Jerry Theolphius Barnes, 71, of Morehead City, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, at CarolinaEast Medical Center, New Bern. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the K-Club at Brandywine Bay Golf Course from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Jerry had a long career in both state government and in the electronics industry in the Raleigh-Durham area. After retiring to Morehead City, Jerry began working a booth at the Newport Flea Mall. Over the past 14 years people there have become his family and their love and support has kept him going during a long period of illness. Jerrys other passion was golf and he loved both working and playing at Brandywine Bay. I am sure there were many a lie told by his buddies when it came to scores and handicaps. Jerry loved meeting people from all walks of life. He never met a stranger. His larger-than-life personality allowed him to love and live life to its fullest. He is survived by his wife, Jamie, of the home and a sister, JoAnne Watson, and husband, Rick, of Kenly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Theolphius Barnes.
