Obituary Jean Rebecca Engelhard, 82, of Morehead City, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at PruittHealth-Sea Level. Jean passed away peacefully. She fought a long, hard battle against Parkinson's with Lewy Body Dementia. Jean grew up in Swedesboro, NJ. She was a graduate of Swedesboro High School, where she was a cheerleader and Majorette. She worked various jobs over the years: Bookkeeping, Executive Secretary for United States Senate, and Jean's favorite job was selling homes for Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. Jean and her husband Vic were residing in Murrells Inlet, SC., following Vic's retirement from the United States Navy. Upon Jean relocating to Morehead City, NC, following Victor's death in 2012, Jean loved joining her church family at Southbanks Community Church every Sunday. She loved listening to worship music and the word of God. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Victor L. Engelhard. Her father and mother Edward and Edna Ernest, of Woodstown, NJ. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Koriaken and brother, Phillip Ernest both of Delaware. Her son, Michael Engelhard of Fredericksburg, VA, Her son, David Engelhard (Leslie) and Her daughter, Vicki Cook (Douglas) both of Morehead City, NC. Three grandchildren: John Engelhard (Jessica), Crystal Rardon (Andrew) and Bonnie Romniou (Antonios). Seven great-grandchildren: Brendan, Rebecca, Michael, Riley, Genevieve, Blaine, and Sofia. Jean will be dearly missed as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a dear friend to many. Her smile and infectious laughter, and just outright love for people, will forever be remembered in our hearts. To respect Jeans wishes, she will be cremated and interned with her husband, Victor, at Arlington National Cemetery. The arrangements will be announced at a later date and posted on this obituary page. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Jean.
