Jean Carol Zappia

Obituary Jean Carol Bosco Zappia, 86, of Morehead City, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City. The family will celebrate her life privately. Instead of a typical obituary, Jean left the following letter behind to be shared. Dear Family and Friends, If you are reading this, I no longer am in, or of this world. It has been a great run, shorter than some, longer than most. Long enough to know that our younger generation is going to be fine. They came from a group of strong immigrants who came to this country for a better life; not an easier life, but a better life for their families, parents, children, brothers and sisters. We are now into our sixth generation and I would say since the beginning they have better lives with education, may that continue. I was amongst those that graduated from High School. Now we have graduates with Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Doctorates degrees, may that continue. My life has been full and I enjoyed every new objective. Stints as a Room Mother, Brownie Leader, Den Mother, and a political campaign manager, but especially baking, cooking and picking up a good book to read, music to enjoy, and a walk in the woods or on the beach. As I am writing this it is a sunny, bright day at the beach and the pelicans are flying overhead; the seas are calm and the sky is blue, a perfect morning. The past is always with us, but we shouldnt live there. Keep moving forward, yesterday is gone, tomorrow will come, ready or not! I send hugs and kisses to all! And may life be kind to you.
