Obituary Jane Wilson, affectionately known as KYTE, 60, of Morehead City, departed her earthly life and transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern. A Memorial Service Celebration will be held on Saturday Oct. 21st at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at 2pm. KYTE was born in Manhattan, New York in 1962. She was the third of seven children born to James Henry Wilson, Sr. and the late, Esther Wilson. As a young child she moved to Morehead City, NC, where she spent the remainder of her life. Even though she spent most of her life in Morehead City, her heart carried a special love for the place where she was born, New York City. Often times calling herself a Yankee. KYTE was a hard worker with a big heart. Always sharing and often times giving her last. She loved to make those around her smile; creating special bonds and lifelong friendships with the many people who crossed her path, winning them over with her infectious personality and great sense of humor. She was a fun and energetic soul who loved hanging out with friends, playing cards, and being the life of the party. KYTE accepted Christ at a young age and never wavered from her faith. No matter what her life appeared to be at times, she always spoke of the goodness of Jesus and was always open to a good word, a bible verse and a strong prayer. In her later years, she enjoyed trips to Philadelphia; spending free time and holidays with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She wore the title OMA proudly, and found great joy in watching them grow. Hanging out in the city, eating good food and trips to Atlantic City gave her life. She felt at-home, she felt loved and she felt complete. Family was important to her and she welcomed all that this life had to offer. KYTES sudden and untimely passing will forever leave a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her sweet memory; one daughter, Tiffany of Philadelphia, PA (Troy); father, James Henry Wilson, Sr of NC; one sister; Renee of Havelock, NC; three brothers; James of Morehead City, NC, Edward of Kinston, NC, Chris of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Fero and Noa; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther; sister, Jalila; brother, Johnathan. A special thank you to, James Dunn and Gloria Lewis McCarther for their generosity and kindness when she needed it the most.
