James Gaghan

Obituary James Francis Gaghan, 74, of Morehead City, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at St. Egbert Catholic Church with the pastor, the Rev. Thomas R. Davis officiating. Military honors will follow. Mr. Gaghan was born August 24, 1942 in Warren, Pennsylvania, to Mary Elizabeth McGarry and Merle James Gaghan. He was a member of St. Egbert Catholic Church and was a United States Army Veteran, during the Korean Conflict. He volunteered with the Salvation Army, Hope Mission and Meals-on-Wheels. He was additionally a member of the ELKS Lodge, Lay Franciscans and Toastmasters. He was an awesome dad and granddad. He is survived by his companion, Christine LaBianca of Morehead City; sons, Gregory J. Gaghan and wife, Lori of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; Steven P. Gaghan and wife, Shannon of Mars, Pennsylvania; stepson, Matthew Moakler of Morehead City; brothers, Frederic Gaghan of Providence, New Jersey and John Gaghan of Cleveland, Ohio, as well as five grandchildren: Kyle, Benjamin, Molly, Jillian, and Coilin. His parents preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Egbert Catholic Church, 1706 Evans Street, Morehead City, NC 28557 or to Salvation Army, P. O.
