James Edward Laird

Obituary James Laird, 86 of Emerald Isle, formerly of Moon Township, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at PruittHealth-Trent, in New Bern. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Mount Royal Cemetery, in Pittsburgh, PA on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00am. James was proud Veteran of the US Army, 82nd Airborne, and served in the Korean Conflict. Later in life, he was the owner of his business, "Laird and Associates Inc.". James was a member of the American Legion Post in Swansboro, NC and was an avid gardener in his spare time. In his own words, "Ive lived a good life. Ive been a lot of places and done a lot of things". He is survived by his only daughter, Arlayne Calhoun and her husband Kevin of Emerald Isle; Grandchildren, Michael Calhoun, Lauren Wiktorek and husband Steve, and their daughter Logan; his brother, Bruce Laird; and his many nephews and nieces. James is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirley M. Laird, and his parents, James M. Laird and Mildred H. Laird.
