Jacob Whaley

Obituary Jacob Gregory Whaley, 67, of Atlantic Beach, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, at his home. His long battle is over and now he can go fishing forever. He is loved by family and friends and will be deeply missed. A visitation to celebrate his life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, July 11, from 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. He was born on January 6, 1948 in Kinston, NC to Harold Lloyd Whaley and Collen Stoddard Whaley. Mr. Whaley served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Whaley; daughter, Kim Rokyta and husband, Brandon Norris of St. Louis, MO; son, Philip Whaley of Newport; stepsons, Paul Looser and wife, Mary Askett of Canada and Peter McCarthy of Canada; sisters, Roxie Vesper and husband, David, of Newport and Tammy Greene of Newport. He is additionally survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Whaley and sister, Debra Allen.
