Obituary Jack Richard Walton, 80, of Beaufort, NC died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Carteret Health Care, Morehead City, NC surrounded by his family. It was the request of Mr. Walton that there would not be a viewing or service. He was born in Crawford County, Pennsylvania on December 8, 1935, a son of Donald F. and Ruby Handley Walton. He was a 1953 graduate of Cochranton High School in Cochranton, PA. He worked at the Meadville Buick garage right out of high school and then the Meadville News Company. He married Barbara Yeager on September 28, 1957. Mr. Walton became the dairy manager of the North Street Quality Markets until he retired in 1997 and moved to North Carolina leaving the snow behind. He and his wife built their own house there in the year 2000. He took up decoy carving in his retirement years and presented family and friends with Christmas gifts on numerous holidays. He was a member of the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild. He enjoyed mowing his large yard, feeding all the birds and wildlife he had there and was especially proud of the melons that he grew and gave away from his melon patch. A very proud day for him was to have been best man for his oldest grandsons wedding this past October. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara Walton; son, Richard Jon Walton and his wife, Tammy, of Beaufort, NC; daughter Sherrie Peay of Westminster, SC; four grandchildren, Jonathon Walton and his wife, Kayla, Jessie Peay, Justin Peay, and Nicole Walton; he is additionally survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and two brothers.
