Obituary Ivey Burgess "Spanky" Willis Jr of Morehead City died November 16, 2017 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern. No services are planned at Spankys request. Spanky was born on August 14, 1939 in Morehed City to Ivey Burgess Sr and Addie Hancock Willis. He became a master carpenter and took great pride in his craftsmanship. While not working he enjoyed tending to his yard, gardening, mullet fishing and his hand crafted skiff. He is survived by his sisters, Anna C. Willis and Addie W. McGregor both of Morehead City; his nieces and nephews, Karen Kasai and husband Bret of Beaverton, OR, Joanna Whitehurst and husband John of Morehead City, John H. McGregor Jr and wife Amy of Winterville, Carla Famularo and husband Frank of Kinston, Paula Willis, Terry Willis and wife Nerci of Wilmington and Jamie Willis and wife Kristin of Eastville, VA; eleven great nephews and six great nieces; and his two furry friends, Booger and Tippy. Spanky was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Burgess, Kilber and Larry G. Willis.
