Ira 'Lee' Winberry, Jr

Obituary Ira Lee Winberry, Jr., 46, of Beaufort, went to his heavenly home Sunday June 24, 2018, at Carteret Health Care, Morehead City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Egbert Catholic Church, with the former pastor, Rev. Douglas Smiley and the pastor, Rev. Thomas Davis, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Church Columbarium. Lee was born in Cumberland County on June 30, 1971, to Ira Lee and Diane Brinson Winberry. He graduated from West Carteret High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion from Mt. Olive College. He was a Pastoral Assistant for more than 10 years at St. Egbert Catholic Church in Morehead City. He is survived by his parents, Ira and Diane Winberry of Mill Creek; brothers, Jay Winberry, and his wife, Beth, of Asheville, Paul Winberry, and his wife, Audrey, of Ellensburg, WA, and Joe McKenzie of Beaufort; and several nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends at St. Egbert Catholic Church on Wednesday evening, June 27, 2018 from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM. with a Christian Wake Service at 6:00 PM.
