Obituary Hermine Zmoda, 97, of Morehead City, formerly of New Bern and Greenville, died Monday, May 30, 2016, at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation and Health Care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at St. Egbert Catholic Church, with the pastor, the Rev. Thomas R. Davis, officiating. Interment will at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 3005 Country Club Road, New Bern, NC 28540. She was born in Mamaroneck, NY on April 30, 1919 to Joseph and Mary Jachyra Zmoda. During her younger years, she travelled the world extensively, visiting the Far East, Israel and Europe several times. She was a meticulous record-keeper, a great hostess and gourmet cook. After retiring from ITT Corp in Milford, CT, in 1986, where she was an executive secretary, she moved to Greenville, NC, and later to New Bern and finally, in 2013, to Morehead City. She is survived by her brother, Barney Zmoda, and wife Marilyn, of Morehead City; sister-in-law, Gloria Zmoda, of New Bern; 4 nephews and 5 nieces. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Al Zmoda, of New Bern. Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
