Henry “Cliff” Clifford Flege, 83, of Newport, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at his home, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, adventure, and love for his family and friends.

A graduate of Ellet High School in Akron, Ohio, Cliff proudly served in the U.S. Navy before embarking on a long and successful career with Consolidated Freight. Over more than 30 years with the company in Akron, he achieved an impressive milestone of over one million safe miles. After retirement, he continued to stay active by working as a prep cook at the Tomato Grill in Hudson, Ohio, for over 12 years. 

Cliff had a passion for traveling, cooking, and riding his Harley-Davidson. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters, who were the joy of his life. His warmth and friendship touched many, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who shared in his journey.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bobbie Flege of Newport; step-son, Joshua Robinson of Newport; Jacob Robinson of Newport; step-daughter, Phyllica Maple and husband, Robert of Athens, TX; three grandchildren, Emily Howell of New Bern; Katlynn Robinson of Havelock; Nathaniel Robinson of Kansas; four great granddaughters; Audrey Daniels of New Bern; Addelyn Jo Onorio of New Bern; Evelynn Padgett of Havelock; Savannah Maple of Athens, TX; sister, Mary Noel and husband, Larry; brother, Tommy Flege; brother, Mark Flege; sister, Karen Flege all of Akron, OH. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Elizabeth Flege; brother, Richard Flege and sister, Judy Partridge.
