Obituary 1-888-579-7953 Code: 2002089P Hazel Lynch Walker, 77, of Raleigh, formerly of Smyrna, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Wellington Nursing and Rehab, Knightdale. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 16, 2015, at 3:00 p.m., at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Paul Gillikin officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery. Hazel was born in Beaufort on March 14, 1938, to James Edward and Verna Leigh Willis Lynch. She attended Smyrna High School and played on the basketball team. She attended Craven Community College and graduated from cosmetology school. In 1985, she married the love of her life, Colin Walker, retired, traveled the world, moved to Raleigh, played bingo and enjoyed their life together until his death in 2005. She is survived by daughters, Donna Bennett of Knightdale, Kathleen Little, and her husband, Bobby, of Raleigh; sons, Joey Sparks of Beaufort, and Michael Sparks, and wife, Susan, of Cape May, NJ; brother, Scotty Lynch of Smyrna; grandchildren, Joalea Swanger, and husband, Aric, Veronica Walsh, and husband, Eric, Brittany Sparks, Lauren Sparks and Nicky Davis, Joshua Sparks, and wife, Olivia, and Madeline Little; great-grandchildren, Joey Swanger, Aubrey Struyk, Emma Swanger, Ava Swanger, Landen Davis and Hannah Swanger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Colin C. Walker, and siblings, Janice Wade, Henry Lynch, Terry Holiday, Peter Lynch and Jimmy Lynch. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church.
