Obituary Hazel Skipper Simpson, 96, of Beaufort, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016, at her home. Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Brooks Funeral Home with Susan Stumbaugh officiating. Mrs. Simpson was born on July 16, 1919, in Fernandina Beach, FL to Henry and Lulla Stafford Skipper. In 1938, she married Harold Simpson and moved to Beaufort. Hazel was very active in our community for decades. She was a charter member of both the Beaufort Garden Club and the local chapter of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Simpson Rave, and husband, Michael; six grandchildren, Laurel Anderson, Adrian Simpson, Rod Simpson, Nicholas Salter, Cameron Simpson and Anastasia Rave; three great grandchildren, London Anderson, Malorie Salter and Alex Salter. In addition to her husband, Hazel is preceded in death by her two sons, Gray Simpson and Rod Simpson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the funeral home.
