Harold Warnock, Jr

September 19, 1934 — December 7, 2015

Obituary Harold Henderson "Bink" Warnock, Jr., 81, of Atlantic Beach, NC, and formerly of Red Bank, NJ, died Monday, December 7, 2015 at his home. Born on September 19, 1934 to Harold and Laura Warnock in Youngstown, OH - a first sign that he would live a long life as a Buckeye fan- he spent his childhood there with his older sister Ann Larson, now living in Newtown Square, PA and their parents. Mr. Warnock proudly served our country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany, where he played on the Army basketball team. Following his military career, he married Virginia Carlyle and was graduated from The Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!). During a sales career in the textile industry, he and his growing family relocated to the New York City area, settling in Monmouth County, NJ, which he would call home for more than three decades. He spent his golden years in the Bogue Banks area of NC (allegedly to escape the "damned cold" of the Northeast but it helped that some family was living in the area). Mr. Warnock worked in various sales and service positions throughout his life but he would consider his greatest accomplishment that of being husband to Patricia Warnock who he loved beyond measure and cared for unfailingly during their 30 years of marriage, until her death in 2003. He was, no doubt, a consummate curmudgeon, but he had a softer side that he shared (rarely before noon) with friends and his children: Kim Morgan and husband, Bill, of Warner, NH, Keith Warnock of Daytona Beach, FL, Chris Warnock of West Allenhurst, NJ, Charles Muldaur and wife, Melinda, of Laguna Niguel, CA, Mollie Muldaur of Brattleboro, VT, Raymond Muldaur and wife, Natalie, of Pasadena, CA, Mary Battista and husband, Tony, of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, Christopher Muldaur and wife, Tracey, of Rumson, NJ and Sheila Schiffman and husband, Jeffery, of Shaker Heights, OH, as well as his fifteen grandchildren: Keith Warnock, Alex Warnock, Julia Warnock, Natalie Warnock, Jonathan Morgan, Sarah Morgan, Jamie Morgan, Samuel Hulick, Matthew Hulick, Collin Battista, Aliena Battista, Luke Battista, Skyler Muldaur, Caroline Muldaur, and Eamon Schiffman. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, Wilson Hulick. The family would like to acknowledge his very brave and successful effort to beat cancer in 2013, thus granting him - and all of us - those "bonus" years, which included an epic celebration of his 80th birthday. We are also thankful that the Buckeyes had the good grace to prevail at this years game against archrival Michigan, allowing our beloved brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to die a happy man! The family intends to hold a memorial service at a later date. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
