Obituary Harold C. Green, 89, of Pine Knoll Shores, died Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday, November 2, 2018, at 11:00 AM at St. Egbert Catholic Church, with the pastor, The Reverend Thomas R. Davis, officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.. Harold was born in Washington, DC on April 4, 1929, to Finnie Isaac and Stephanie Holla Green. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Army, and was a horticulturist. He was employed by the National Parks Service and served as White House head gardener under 4 different presidents. He was a gentle soul, beloved by all that met him, and will be truly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his sister, Ethel, a niece and four nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
