Obituary Hamilton Nobles, 38, formerly of Morehead City, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC after a lengthy illness. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sarah Williams officiating. He was born November 5, 1979 in Morehead City to Emily and John Nobles. He graduated from West Carteret High School in 1998. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 130 and also earned his pilots license while in high school. Hamilton was an animal lover and a lover of the outdoors. Prior to his illness, he was a river guide in the Natahala Gorge. He is survived by his parents, The Honorable and Mrs. John E. Nobles, Jr. of Morehead City; sister, Emily Nobles Preiss of Raleigh; brother, John E. Nobles, III and wife Emily of Raleigh; nieces and nephew, Nobles, Mae, and Jack Preiss; aunts and uncles, Colonel Richard and Mrs. Margaret Nobles Sciebeck of Morehead City, Bob and Eliza Nobles Worthington of Morehead City, Colonel Fred and Mrs. Carole Trout of New Orleans, LA, Colonel Ken and Mrs. Harriett Sharpe of Richmond, VA, Dale and Anne Warner of Kinston, Jim and Kathy Hutcheson of Rocky Mount, Dr. Julian and Mrs. Margy Brantley of Rocky Mount,; and 19 first cousins. A reception for family and friends will be held at the church fellowship hall following the service. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rena and Jack Nobles, Marjorie and Leon Mitchell and aunt, Susan Mitchell Goodwin. Special appreciation is given to his best friend Aimee Dull for the loving care she gave Hamilton during his illness.
