Obituary Biography Gregory Bruce Tanner, 57, of Newport, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Carteret General Hospital. No services will be held. He was born in Washington, DC on April 21, 1957 to Jessie Leon Tanner and Peggy Jo Perry Tanner. He is survived by his wife, Carey Tanner; mother, Peggy Tanner of Taneytown, MD; daughter, Sarah Tanner of Pennsylvania; sons, Jason Tanner of Maryland and Daniel Tanner of Pennsylvania; stepdaughter, Britlyn Elmore of Charlotte, NC; sister, Teresa Muller of Maryland; brothers, Dave Tanner of Delaware and Michael Tanner of Maryland; and two grandsons. In addition to his father, his brother, Rusty Tanner, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, cards and condolences may be sent to the family, 1125 Lake Road, Lot 4, Newport, NC 28570.
