Obituary 1-888-579-7953 Code: 2002089P Grace L. Brown, 69, of Merrimon, NC, formerly of Newark and Dunellen, NJ, died Friday, June 16, 2017 at her home, working in her garden. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home, Friday June 23, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2017 at Brooks Funeral Home with the pastor of St. Egbert Catholic Church, Rev. Thomas R. Davis officiating. Born to John and Rose Guiotto on the 4th of July in Italy, she immigrated to the US with her parents as a little girl. She worked in a family business in Newark, NJ, and later worked in accounting, but she cherished most of all her role as a homemaker. Gracie had a heart of gold and found joy helping family and friends, working tirelessly, and offering a wealth of no-nonsense advice and opinions. She was a trusted dear friend, second mama to so many, renowned for her bountiful, authentic Italian meals. Survived by her son, Vincent Brown and his wife Sarah, of Matthews, NC; sister Mirella Criscietello, Cranford, NJ, brother David Guiotto, Bronx, NY; stepchildren Maryanne Climes, N Plainfield, NJ, Patrick Brown, Basking Ridge, NJ; nine grandchildren, Abigail and Pearson, Marissa, Courtney, Elyse, Shane, Patrick, Jake, McKeegan. Also survived by dear friend William Garner. Predeceased by her parents, husband William S. Brown, and stepdaughter Cathleen Brown.
