Gordon "Mac" Mccabe

Obituary Gordon "Mac" McCabe, Sr., 91, of Morehead City, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay, Sea Level. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Zorowski, pastor of St. Peters United Methodist Church Morehead City, presiding. Mr. McCabe was born in Wildwood to John and Lillian McCabe. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant, after 31 years of service. Mr. McCabe participated in World War II, and the Vietnam War. While in the Air Force he was on the Presidential Squadron, Air Force One. He is a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart recipient. Mac and his son Gordy, attended St. Peters United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Mary Ethel McCabe of Morehead City; one son, Gordon "Gordy" McCabe, Jr., of Morehead City; one daughter, Karen McCabe of Morehead City and a brother Charles McCabe of Sumter, SC. His parents precede him in death. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 11:00 am service.
