Obituary 1-888-579-7953 Code: 2002089P Gerald "Timothy" Batchelder, 63, of Newport, died Saturday, December 12, 2015, at his home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 12:00 Noon at Goose Creek Resort, 350 Red Barn Road, Newport. Timothy was born in Laconia, New Hampshire, January 27, 1952 to Lewis and Judith Wallace Batchelder. He worked in cable maintenance with Verizon Communications for 30 years in Westchester County, NY, retiring in 2000. He and his wife moved to Newport after retirement so he could enjoy hunting and fishing in the country. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a fantastic uncle. He is survived by his wife, Mary Batchelder, of Newport; his daughter, Cheryl Gaiero, and her husband, Edward, Jr., of Rumney, NH; a sister, Nancy St. George, of Holy Oak, Mass; a brother, Michael Batchelder of Lynn, Mass; two grandchildren, Stephanie Gaiero and Margaret Gaiero, both of Rumney, NH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Timothy was preceded in death by his brothers, Shawn Batchelder and Luke Batchelder. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the memorial service at Goose Creek Resort. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials in Timothys name be made to Carteret Health Care Foundation for Cancer Services, P. O. Drawer 1619, Morehead City, NC 28557.
