Gail Nickens

February 9, 1957 — December 4, 2018

Obituary Gail Molic Nickens, age 61, of Morehead City formerly of Goldsboro, died December 4, 2018 at Carteret Landing in Morehead City. A celebration of Gails Life will be held during a Resurrection Service held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Morehead City. The Rev. Powell Osteen and Rev. Patrick Whaley will officiate. Gail was born in Dade County, Florida to Walter and Ann Molic on February 9, 1957. She completed her undergraduate and Pharmacy School at UNC Chapel Hill. Shortly after graduating, Gail married Larry C. Nickens on May 30, 1981 in Greenville. Through Larrys medical school, a life altering diagnosis of MS, raising a daughter, and 34 year career with Wayne Memorial Hospital, their love endured and flourished through it all. Gails life was multifaceted, and it must be noted that she was forever a Tar-Heel fan! Now her love for basketball did overshadow that of football. She loved traveling and some of her favorite places to visit were Hilton Head and Sanibel Island. Another facet of her life was her faith; Gail was truly a woman of faith. The family was members of St. Paul UMC for over 37 years before moving to Morehead City in September 2018 where they became members of the First United Methodist Church. The most important facet of her life was her family. Although Gail loved her Labradoodle, Mollie, immensely nothing could compare to the love she had for her family. She delighted in spending time with her oldest grandson, Bradley. He referred to her as "Mama 2" and they shared not one but two trips to Disneyworld together. Gail is survived by her husband Dr. Larry C. Nickens of Morehead City; her daughter Rev. Sarah Williams and her husband Gray of Beaufort; her sister, Lynne Rackley and her husband Gene of Greenville; her two precious grandsons, Bradley and Jackson; and Mollie. The family will receive guests immediately following the service at the church. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ann Molic. The family suggests donations to either The National MS Society. www.nationalmssociety.org or the Crystal Coast Hospice House, www.crystalcoasthospicehouse.org Services Celebration of Life Friday December 7, 2018 10:00 AM First United Methodist Church 900 Arendell Street Morehead City, NC 28557 Reception Friday December 7, 2018 12:00 PM First United Methodist Church 900 Arendell Street Morehead City, NC 28557
