Obituary Fred Leroy Bertram, 100, of Beaufort, NC died Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Transitions Life Care, Raleigh, NC. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Ocean View Cemetery, Beaufort. The Rev. Douglas Byrd will preside. The youngest of 11 siblings, he was born January 6, 1917 in Fox Home, Minnesota to William Bertram and Ida Miller Bertram. He married Christine Jarman on June 30, 1944 in Ocala, FL. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Bertram served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1941 until 1945. He was the owner of Bertram Auto Repair which he founded in 1968. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, Beaufort. His hobbies included woodworking. After he retired, he built many porch swings that you would see around Beaufort. He is survived by two sons; Mickey Bertram and his spouse Tamara and William Kelly Bertram and his spouse Loretta; three grandchildren, William M. Bertram, James F. Bertram, Robert H. Bertram; three great-grandchildren, Layla E. Bertram, Michael R. Bertram, Christine E. Bertram He is preceded in death by his spouse, Christine J. Bertram and grandchild, Karlynn E. Bertram.
