Frances Daniels

Obituary Frances Gaskill Daniels, 85, of Cedar Island, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Frances was many things throughout her life, but what stood out, was the incredible love she had for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She never met a stranger in her life. Her charisma and kindhearted nature is what made her friends, feel like family. Frances had a passion for cooking. Most would say she was "Born to Cook", since it was not only delicious, but anyone that came to the house, never left with an empty belly. She spent many years with the NCDOT working at the Cedar Island Reservation and Visitors Center. She assisted individuals with boarding the ferry to Ocracoke, and with her abundant knowledge of the area, was able to answer any questions in regards to Carteret County and the charm this area had to offer visitors. Frances is survived by her children; daughters Barbara Gillikin of Otway, Dolores Lawrence of Beaufort, and son Joseph Daniels of Cedar Island; sisters Rose Buskirk and Mae Brittingham, both of Beaufort, and brothers Russell Gaskill of Cedar Island and Tommy Gaskill of NJ; grandchildren Kevin Lawrence, Alicia Lawrence, and Heather Daniels; great-grandchildren April Lawrence and Allison Warren; and great-great-grandchild William White Jr., as well as many extended family members and countless friends she had gained over the years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo Daniels, son Malcom Daniels, and son-in-law Johnnie Wayne Gillikin.
