Obituary Fannie Dudley, 93, of Morehead City, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern. The service will be live-streamed on the Noe-Brooks Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/BrooksFuneralHomeAndCrematory Fannie was a faithful Ebenezer Baptist Church member in Newburgh, New York, then St. Luke Missionary Baptist when she returned to Morehead City. She loved the Lord and served faithfully in several organizations such as Auxiliaries, Mothers Board, Missionary Circle, Sunday School, St Lukes kitchen staff, and Vacation Bible School. She also attended Bible Study and prayer service faithfully. Fannie fellowshipped and served with surrounding churches such as Carteret Craven County Wide Missionary- Vice President, NBEMBA Kitchen staff, and former member of the NBEMBA Unity Choir. Fannie was an extraordinary woman who led an active full life until her decline in health. We will always remember her as a wonderful mother and a loving grandmother. Her kind, gentle, and the generous spirit leaves behind a rich legacy of love and wisdom. She set an example for her children and many others by the way she lived her life. Too many, she was known as a friend, but to her family, she always is remembered as "nanny," who affectionately responded to us all with "yes, dear." She was a fantastic cook and loved to crochet and make blankets for family and friends. Fannie loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and they will greatly miss her. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. D.C. Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Morehead City. Due to Covid-19, masks and social distancing will be required. Fannie is survived by her daughter, Freida Stevens of New Windsor, NY; grandchildren, Wyatt Stevens (Maureen), Venona Mays (Kevin), Tracy Reams (Sandy), Tonia Dudley-Clayton (Darnell), Michael Dudley Jr., Christopher Dudley; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Herring; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
