Obituary Etta Taylor Noe, 81, of Beaufort, died Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Alston Brook Nursing Home, Lexington, NC. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home, with Rev. Rochele Bailey and Tanya Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens, Beaufort. Etta was born April 2, 1937, in Carteret County to Cicero and Carrie Edith Dudley Taylor. Growing up, she spent many long days working on the family farm. She worked for a number of years with First Citizens Bank as a Teller, and later in life she worked with the Carteret County Sheriffs Department as a jailor. She was also a member of the Harlowe United Methodist Church. She immensely enjoyed volunteering for a variety of organizations and causes, mainly with the North Carolina Seafood Festival, traveling, and spending time with her family and close friends. She is survived by a daughter, Catherine N. Hicks, of Clayton; son, Clifton Alan Noe, and wife, Katie, of Smyrna; grandchildren, Laura Clifton, and husband, Keith, Amanda Russell, Cory A. Noe, and wife, Brittany, and Brandon Struyk, and wife, Shelli; great grandchildren, Austin, Nicholas and Hannah Clifton, Aidan and Landon Robertson, and Aubrey, Olivia and Taylor Struyk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at 12:30 PM until service time. Following the service and burial, the family will receive guests at 164 Whitehurst Rd, Smyrna. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Noe is preceded in death by her son, Earl Mac "Buddy" Noe, Jr., and 2 sisters, Shirley Taylor and Faye Taylor.
