Obituary Emy Powell Christian, 67, of Beaufort, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House, Newport. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mary Ogus officiating. The committal will follow at the church columbarium. A Celebration of Life will also be held at a later date in Waynesville, NC The youngest of ten children, she was born October 14, 1949 and reared in Waynesville, NC. Emy moved to Raleigh in 1970 and after marrying Joe Christian in 1983, moved to Beaufort, NC. A member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Emy was very active in the community as well as her church. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Powell; brothers, Bruce Powell and George Powell, all of Waynesville. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Lela Powell. The family will receive friends in the church parish hall following the service.
