Emanuel 'Sam' Farrugia

Obituary Emanuel Farrugia, 88, of Atlantic Beach, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at the home of his son. No Services are scheduled. Emanuel was born June 22, 1927, on the Island of Malta, in the village of Mqabba, to George and Josephine Farrugia. Mr. Farrugia was a member of the Maltese American Club in Detroit and a former member of St. Jemma Catholic Church. He and his wife retired to Atlantic Beach from Detroit in 1992. His family will best remember him for his passion of making fireworks. Mr. Farrugia is survived by two daughters, Odette Park and husband Randy of Howell, MI, and Carmen Farrugia of Morehead City; one son, Leonard E. Farrugia, of Beaufort; two brothers, Robert and Joseph Farrugia, both of Malta; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Margo, Kristen Perras, Lisa Armel, Megan Burroughs, Katelyn Farrugia, Taylor Thierrien, Nicholas Farrugia and Lucas Farrugia; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Perras, Makenzie and Camden Burroughs, William & Isabella Armel, and Rylan Thierrien. In addition to his parents, his wife, Gracie Mary Farrugia, precedes him in death.
