Elizabeth Vickroy

Obituary Elizabeth T. Vickroy, 75, of Newport, died Monday, December 25, 2017, at Croatan Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Supplee, Pastor of St. James United Methodist Church, Newport, presiding. Mrs. Vickroy was born October 15, 1942, in Durham, to Perry M. Taylor, Jr. and Nettie Taylor. She married Jonathan Vickroy at the First United Methodist Church in Morehead City on February 4, 1967. Elizabeth had several different jobs including being the secretary to the assistant director of the Duke Medical Center Library, she was also a secretary at the 1st Baptist Church in Washington, NC, and her last job was as a teachers assistant at Broad Creek Middle School. She is survived by her husband, Jonathan A. Vickroy of Newport; one brother William F. Taylor and wife Janie of Morehead City; sister-in-law, Laura R. Taylor of Morehead City; a nephew, William F. Taylor, Jr. and wife Cathy of State College, PA; a niece, Keeley Wojtylak and husband Brad of St. Thomas Island, United States Virgin Islands; grand-nephews, Matthew and Korey Wojtylak, Stuart and Sean Taylor. In addition to her parents, two brothers, Perry M. Taylor, III, and Arthur M. Taylor, and a nephew, Michael M. Taylor preceded her in death.
