Obituary Elizabeth "Betty" Coatney Shelton, 97, of Morehead City, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City. The family will celebrate her life privately. Betty was a member of the Gibsonville United Methodist Church in Gibsonville, NC. Betty loved the outdoors, especially flowers and birds. She was also an expert ballroom dancer. She is survived by her son, Steve Shelton of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Cheryl Shelton-Roberts of Morehead City; two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dorothy Coatney and her seven siblings.
