Obituary Eileen Pake Jones, 96, of Beaufort died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay, Sea Level, NC surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Ocean View Cemetery. She was born March 4, 1920 in Marshallberg, NC to Charlie Woodson and Harriett Lewis Pake. After graduating from East Carolina Teachers College, she worked at Langley Field in Virginia as a mathematician. Her fathers illness brought her back to Carteret County where she met and married David Jones, a partner in Guthrie-Jones Drug Store. She taught school in Beaufort for over thirty years. She was a member of Ann Street United Methodist Church and NEA. Her greatest passions in life were her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Jones Wheatly and husband Claud of Beaufort; son, David E. Jones, Jr. and wife Susan of Smyrna; daughter-in-law, Janie Miller Jones of Smyrna; grandsons, Robby Wheatly and wife Kate, Charles Wheatly, David Jones, III and Christopher Jones. In addition to her parents, her husband, David Edward Jones, son, Charles Stanley Jones and siblings, Irma Quinn, Frank Pake and Janice Fulcher preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, P. O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or the charity of ones choice.
