Obituary Edgar Earl Cole, 86, of Beaufort died Monday, August 15, 2016, at Crystal Coast Hospice House, Newport. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, at Ann Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Taylor Mills officiating. The interment with military honors will follow at Ocean View Cemetery. He was born May 13, 1930 in Morehead City to Burrus and Oudia Cannon Cole. Mr. Cole was a 1950 graduate of Beaufort High School and served in the United States Army for 38 years retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was a member of VFW Post 2401, Beaufort, American Legion Post 99, Beaufort, and the Reserve Officers Association. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Cole was a member of Ann Street United Methodist Church and was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Edith B. Cole; daughters, Lisa Cole Carraway and husband David of Suffolk, VA and Lori C. Warren of Beaufort and one granddaughter, Lily Margaret Warren. In addition to his parents, his sisters, Gertrude Cavett, Erma Nassef, and Dorothy Holland and brother, Ernest Cole preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at Ann Street United Methodist Church Eure Building prior to the service from 10:00 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carteret Health Care Foundation for Cancer Services, P.
