Dyches Villines Boddiford, 75, of Marietta, GA and Morehead City, NC, died Friday, August 2nd in Morehead City with his family by his side.

Born May 4th, 1949, in Lyons, GA, he grew up on a farm near Sylvania, GA. As a youth, his father built him a science lab in a backyard shed; thus, was set a foundation for a powerfully (and sometimes “explosive”) inquisitive and smart mind. He was active in 4H and a counselor at 4H Camp Rock Eagle. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Physics, an M.S. in Information and Computer Science, and did post-grad work. Following college, he worked for several companies, including V.P. of The Taulman Company. Upon leaving The Taulman Company, he formed The Oaks Group Inc. to handle real estate related activities. He was a national speaker and full-time real estate investor. He was the author of many educational real estate and finance books. As a real estate mentor and educator, he impacted the real estate market and many careers along the way. Not only was he generous with sharing his knowledge, but also, financially supportive of many causes.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deborah (Debbie) Sieker Boddiford, his daughters Dorothy Kuni (James III) of Marietta, GA and Laura Hegland (Jay) of Boynton Beach, FL, and granddaughters Elyse & Anya Kuni, his siblings Samantha Thomason (Michael) and McQue Boddiford (Juanita) along with nieces, nephews, and many Boddiford cousins.

A private grave-side family service is planned later this summer at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Beaufort, NC.
