Obituary Douglas Alan Elliot, age 75, a resident of Newport, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10,2021 at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the funeral home. Douglas was born August 20, 1945 in Clark County, OH and lived in that area many years. Following his graduation from Sinking Spring High School in 1964, Douglas joined the United States Marine Corp and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War. He retired after twenty years as a Master Sergeant and received many medals and commendations. He also worked twenty five years, for CACI International, and was also Owner/Operator of Elliott Racing.. His life revolved around his grandchildren and racing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Elliott; parents Ralph and Ileen Elliott; and son, Tony Elliott, brothers, Roger, Bill, Richard and one sister Beverly. Douglas is survived by daughter, Kim Buck; son and daughter-in-law David and Cindy Elliott; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Mark Leffler; sister-in-law, Sarah Elliott; and grandchildren, David, Katie, Magen and Kevin, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends too numerous to mention.
