Doris Jeanne Umbarger

Obituary Doris Jeanne Umbarger, 90, of Pine Knoll Shores, died Saturday, January 16, 2015, at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 22, at St. Egbert Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas R. Davis officiating. She was born September 23, 1925 in McKeesport, PA, to William and Ruth Dunley Falkenstein. Mrs. Umbarger was a member of St. Egbert Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lynn Michalek of Pittsburgh, PA; sons, James "Jay" Umbarger and wife Lynn of New Milford, CT, David Michael Umbarger, Sr. and wife Mary Jean of Chelmsford, MA, and Timothy "Tim" Umbarger and wife Jill of Eureka, MO; grandchildren, Trish, Craig, Leah, Todd, John, Michael, Brian, Kaila, Sarah, Ashton, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Evan, Colin, Fiona, and James. In addition to her parents, her husband, James R. Umbarger, and brothers, William Falkenstein, Christian Falkenstein and Jay Falkenstein, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00 7:00 p.m. with at Christian Wake Service held at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Egbert Catholic School, 1706 Evans Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
