Donald Zurek

Obituary Donald Francis Zurek, 76, of Newport, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Crystal Coast Hospice House, Newport. At Mr. Zureks request, there will be no funeral service. Donald was born on December 16, 1937, in New Britain, CT, to Matthew Stanley and Estelle Sabot Zurek. He was a building contractor and co-owner of Crystal Coast Crafters. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Stroud Zurek; sons, Matthew Zurek of New Britain, CT, Stephen Swinson of Old Trap, NC, and Kenneth Swinson of Chesapeake, VA; daughters, Susan Marie Smith of Saratoga, WY and Cynthia Gale Morris of Morehead City; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, his daughter, Denise Fuller, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 15, 2014, between 2 pm and 5pm at the home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Crystal Coast Hospice House, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Newport, NC.
