Obituary Donald Robert Hollister, Sr, 75, of Newport, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Donald was raised in Addison, NY but lived most of his life on the Crystal Coast of NC. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. He was a member of Soundview Baptist Church in Newport. He was a happy go lucky kind of guy who spent most of his days playing golf at his own pace. A private service will be held at the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC. Donald is survived by his wife, Ann Hollister; children, Donald Hollister II., Melissa El Sayed and her husband Ismail, and Tracie Walters; step-children, Paul Norris and his wife Rosa, and Austin Norris and his wife Polly; grandchildren, Weston Hollister, Fares El Sayed, Haliegh Gore, Kris Walters, and Katelyn Walters; step-grandchildren, Tanner Norris, Reagan Norris, and Jacob Norris; brothers, Robert Hollister, Richard Hollister, David Hollister, (his twin) Ronald Hollister; sisters, Donna Ames, and Sharon Barney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lilian Hollister; grandson, Cyrous Hollister; brother, Harold Hollister, and sister, Mary Alice Hollister.
