Don Lewis

Obituary Don Huston Lewis, 82, of Smyrna, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Carteret General Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Brooks Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Michael Fields officiating. He was born on Harkers Island on May 8, 1933 to Mart and Sabra Nelson Lewis. Don grew up on Harkers Island with a love for the water that was passed from generation to generation . . . . peaceful, quiet, hard working, unrelenting strength. He was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Lewis Cayton of Beaufort; son, Rodney Lewis and wife, Amanda, of Beaufort; sister, Allie Gillikin of Harkers Island; grandchildren, Brandon Cayton, Alexandria Allie Cayton, Victoria Lewis, and Hayden Lewis. In addition to his parents, his wife, Alice Golden Lewis; sisters, Melva Gillikin and Sidney Potter; brother, Marshall Lewis; and son-in-law, Christan Chris Cayton, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 11:00 a.m. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Smyrna United Methodist Church, P. O.
