David Jones, Jr

Obituary David Edward Jones, Jr., 67, of Smyrna, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at home. Mr. Jones was born in Beaufort to David Edward Jones, Sr. and Eileen Pake Jones. He spent his childhood in Beaufort. David is a graduate of East Carolina University and worked as a Ferry Boat Captain for the State of North Carolina. He is survived by his wife Susan Garner Jones of Smyrna; two sons, David E. Jones, III and wife Ashley of Beaufort, and Christopher Pake Jones of Smyrna; one sister, Joyce Jones Wheatly and her husband Claud of Beaufort; one granddaughter Savanah Grace Jones of Beaufort; sister-in-law Janie Miller Jones of Smyrna; two nephews Robby Wheatly and wife Katie, and Charles Wheatly and wife Billye Carroll. In addition to his parents, his brother Charles S. Jones preceded him in death.
